1. GLASS ENGRAVING

We offer two ranges of Buckingham genuine hand cut lead crystal glass in our CRYSTAL GLASS FOR GOLFERS sections. The first of these is the Buckingham Panel Range while the second is the Buckingham Fully Cut Range. Panelled items are designed specifically to be engraved for display and presentation. Each piece has a blank panel around one quarter of its circumference for text and/or designs to be engraved on. This makes any item into something very personal and all the more memorable - it's the perfect way to commemorate an important and noteworthy event for posterity

We offer a full engraving service for our glass products. Pieces from both of our Buckingham Crystal Glass Ranges are engraved by the very best quality hand sand blasting which can take several days to complete.

Glass Engraving Explained

Fine quality traditional sand blasting is a skilled procedure needing much practice and experience - it's quite different to simply scratching onto the glass. The result is a high quality permanent engraving, which, unlike most printed-on designs, will never rub or scratch off.

The work  begins by making a black and white artwork design which is then painstakingly converted into a template. This is then carefully placed into position on the glass item ready for engraving. At this stage a stream of fine particles of sand are blown at high velocity cutting only the areas of glass left exposed by the template. Great care has to be taken throughout. The slightest error, particularly in the final stages, can ruin an entire piece.

Once completed the sand blasting process leaves the white parts of the original black and white artwork as untouched normal glass and the black as an eroded white frosted finish. The result is a beautiful engraving and a hand crafted work of art

How to Make Your Crystal Glass Really Special

A number of glassware pieces in The Buckingham Panel Range are also available in The Buckingham Fully Cut Range (without an engraving panel).

Panelled items can be engraved and matched with a fully cut glassware set. This can be ideal for, say, the family, members of committees or, perhaps the company boardroom. The fully cut pieces in the set can be used for guests, visitors and generally. A personalised set of glasses together with a jug and decanter will look extremely impressive.

You can, of course, have anything you like (names, dates, text, images and so on) engraved onto your wine glasses, decanters and glassware (perhaps you have a family  Coat of Arms?) There are many possibilities and we will be delighted to help you

Pricing Explained

Our pricing for hand engraving by sand blasting is straightforward. There are no hidden charges and all our prices include VAT. Delivery is added at the checkout according to weight and charged at cost or less.

Gift Boxes

If you are purchasing for your own or general use then we will supply items in standard cardboard packaging. If you are buying as a gift we can offer blue presentation boxes with cushioned satin lining. These boxes add a definite touch of luxury and cost between £5.50 and £12.50 according to size.

For larger items (where presentation boxes are not available) such as mixed collections of glasses, decanters and so on we can supply gift (as opposed to presentation boxes) boxes. Both boxes can be seen on the  Crystal Glass Gifts section.

2. METAL ENGRAVING

Prices For Tankards, Flasks, Plates And Other

We can engrave most metal items on the website provided shape and room permit. Some items have their engraving cost included in their product box. In all other cases we will confirm cost if you email or telephone us with the item and engraving text.

Where no price is stated metal engraving will cost approximately £7.50 (set up) and 0.20p per character. Prices vary slightly from item to item although we will, of course, confirm to you by email or telephone. Golf Engraving Designs

By using one of our golf designs you have the benefit of seeing an actual picture of the design as it appears on the glass before you commit to order. This won't be possible with a custom design until the first engraving is made.
